Bio-additives |
Also for bioplastics a lot of developments have been made in order to achieve to same quality of colouration when compared to regular plastics. However, when it comes to colouration of bioplastics, new and different rules have to be applied. The main group of bioplastics are so called bio-polyesters or poly-saccharides or starch. These polymers can not be coloured with regular masterbatch (PE or PS carriers). These materials are incompatible and will only yield poor results. The pigments or dyes that are used can give rise to even more problems. Most bright organic pigments today, contain Nickel, Zinc or Copper complexes, all being bad choices when they enter an industrial composting facility and thus ending up in compost for agricultural purposes. Bio-lite.eu has spent 4 years to develop an unique masterbatch system, especially designed to be used in almost every bioplastic, with natural and biodegradable basic ingredients. We call it the BIO-LITE MB range. This range of masterbatches has gone through extensive testing programms in many bioplastics and has many advantages over regular masterbatches:
These masterbatches can be developed to match specific colours such as RAL or PANTONE. |
